Why they decided to work/volunteer with mercury one

When I first heard the call go out that there was a need for software engineers to assist with the Mercury One web site, I felt that it was something that I had to do.  I volunteered because I firmly believe in the precepts and ideals on which it is founded, and I believe that the momentum is there to do great things.

What they do for mercury one

I am the project manager and software architect for the Mercury One software group.  I coordinate the efforts and design the architecture for the mercuryone.org web site and related software applications that our group writes for Mercury One.

Why they think mercury one is important

To me, Mercury One is a very important vehicle to restoring many things that have been lost or forgotten by many of those in America.  The American spirit of individually focused charity, self reliance, and ingenuity is central to what makes America great.   Through Mercury One, I believe that we can reawaken that spirit and organize those that are like minded to do many great things.

Random fact

I'm a huge Star Trek fan.  This once got me into trouble when I unintentionally won an auction to benefit the Special Operations Warrior's Fund.  About $500 later and a lot of explaining to my wife, I was the proud owner of a Start Trek Gorn captain figurine.  At least it was for a good cause. :)
