Having faith in a deity, someone or something is, by nature, difficult to do. By placing confidence in one of those things without having any proof that it will end positively for you, you are exhibiting great faith.

Yet we do it all the time – faith in God, faith in a spouse, faith that the bridge we drive over will not collapse, faith that the food we eat will not poison us. Even atheism requires faith that there is no transcendent reality.
