Real Solution

As a people we are losing our faith — something is happening and we sense it. Mercury One believes that our real solutions, permanent solutions, can only be found by turning to God.

Judeo-Christian Values

America is great because America is good. We are a charitable nation that historically has relied on something bigger than ourselves to make it through hard times. When disaster strikes, whether it be a tornado or a violent attack, there is a universal reaction among the majority of Americans - faith.

More Americans went to church after 9/11 than any other day in recent history. When natural disasters occur, everyone from news anchors and politicians to the person standing behind you in the check out line, will more often than not refer to prayer or God. Americans share the fundamental belief in God, and our Judeo-Christian heritage is part of what makes us so exceptional.

Faith is where our freedoms derive. Without faith we can't maintain freedom, but with our religious veiws come a responsibility to live by and honor our faith. The saying 'use it or lose it' comes to mind. If we fail to serve, give, and actively participate in our religious institutions, the government will step in and fill the void left in our communities.

Israel

Mercury One holds a strong support for our ally Israel. They are the only nation in the Middle East that shares many of the same values for human life, personal responsibility, and faith in God. The people of Israel maintain strong faith despite the constant attacks they are under all across the globe.

Glenn Beck held Restoring Courage last year in Jerusalem to show the steadfast support we have for Israel. That support will continue as they face growing threats and challenges. The Holocaust Museum of Houston came under attack just months ago from an anti-Semite over its possession of a boat use to rescue Jews from Denmark. We didn't want this individuals hate to be the last word on this matter. Mercury One issued a call for funds so that the Holocaust Museum of Houston could continue their restoration work on the Hannah Frank rescue boat.

You responded and by raising thousands of dollars from individuals throughout the United States, as well as, contributions from New Zealand, Canada and Australia.

Filling the Gap

There is a growing government hostility towards religion. The size of government expands by capitalizing on "needs", many needs that are, or were, being filled by religious institutions and private charity. Rights come with responsibilities, and the more people rely on the state to be the 'helping hand', the less individual freedom we will have.

Mercury One has partnered with faith-based organizations for what we hope will be one of the biggest food drives in the nation's history to tackle the growing number of people on food assistance programs, and the increasing number of children living in poverty. Unlike disasters which strike with such ferocity and force that we are shocked into action, the plague of poverty creeps upon us quietly and silently. It is also unfortunate that at this time where so many people are suffering, local governments have made it hard, through the permitting and regulatory process, to get food to the people who need it most.

Mercury One is taking initiative to fill the gap that is currently being filled by government handouts. While they are giving handouts, Mercury One will be giving hand ups, and empowering others to do the same. If you are someone who believes in limited government, it's your responsibility to step in and help your neighbors when they're in need. More charity is the answer -- not less.
