CIVICS: isn’t just a Class: The Essence of Mercury One
The Mercury One Leadership Training Program has kicked off its inaugural summer sessions at our headquarters in Dallas, TX. During our two sessions, we have opened our library to students for a hands-on experience to research original historical documents from our incredible collection, provided specialized teaching and instruction, and given the opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge from our speakers and guest lecturers. Early in the program one of Mercury One’s team members shares this speech. We want the class to hear about who Mercury One is at the heart of it all. After all, it passion, love and faith that run our organization – everything else comes from those three things naturally. We hope this can give our supporters a unique perspective into our daily lives here at Mercury One:
“At Mercury One, we strive to be an organization whose essence truly sets us apart. We believe that we are held accountable to a higher standard for the work we produce here. We do not do this for ourselves, but to serve those who have been placed under our Stewardship. We strive to make sure all of our interactions are seasoned with Compassion, remembering that those who reach out to us may be facing struggles that we know nothing about. One way we accomplish this is by being intentional in our communications, ensuring our words are kind, and actions are gracious. We strive to be open in our communications with God. In a society that often teaches us to keep to ourselves, it can take real Courage to ask the questions that will lead someone to open up. However, the fact that we, as representatives of Mercury One, care enough to make that connection, could very well be the Inspiration that individual needs to find real encouragement and to do the same for others. Our goal is to set an example worth following, and to plant a new Vision in others of what can really be accomplished in this world. We are a family built by God on the foundation of Integrity. We have faced the storms that come when you are being obedient to God’s call, and leading a servant’s life. We always remain encouraged by those we aid and those we serve, our valued donors and supporters. Our hope is that at the end of these two weeks, you will all walk out our doors fully equipped to weather your own storms with the same determination, grace, and confidence.”
